Artist Statement: Working with glass, a medium that is technically sophisticated in the traditional and contemporary sense, allows me to address notions of light, space and visual communication. These aspects are combined in a multidiscipline practice where the emphases on formal and conceptual concerns are mediated through appropriate process and materials.
Infinity and the Mind is a piece that epitomizes the universality of glass and the opportunities that celebrate the medium in all its richness. The depth of color saturation transmits brilliantly in this one off work the reflective qualities engage the viewer captivating rhythms of color and form. The shadow affects on intersecting and angled color variations create an infinite galaxy of asymmetrical and symmetrical reflections of regular and irregular conic sections, as well as spiral and ellipse shapes. Ellipsis also called Eclipsis indicates an omission in the text consequently allowing the viewer to embark on their own ellipsoidal enlightenment.
