John 9:25 "One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!" I’m a hybrid installation artist based in Sydney, a curator and and the operator of a new private underground art space in rural Sydney. Many hats, one head, dread locks.
Completing a degree in Visual arts at the turn of the millennium majoring in painting and performance, I played the festival circuit in Sydney pretty extensively. I made my creative home at TAP gallery in Darlinghurst around 1997, have curated some successful Sydney group art exhibitions, festivals, performance events, toured and made art in various locations around Australia.
A reformed abstract painter and cerebral performer, over the years, I’ve enjoyed smashing amplified pianos and technology, painted with cheese and tomatoes, huge fish, rat traps, strawberries and done huge scale hybrid installations. Also I photograph (I love photographing glorious skies and clouds) Im pretty proficient at digital art making, photography, some sculpture, write music and words.
The performance installations are spontaneous performances, generally of projected imagery, live art making + painting, fabric, wind, sound, song, movement and are 'existence experiments.
On the quest for many years using the work of art as a soul searching – truth seeking tool, narrowly escaping and leaving behind the fire of psychedelic creativity, abstraction and surrealist performance I turned to Jesus Christ and destroyed all my previous artworks and started life again. Now my art is all about giving glory to Him instead of to myself and an expression of my new freedom instead of my old chains. I'm currently working on a text pertaining to the spiritual nature of the work art, imagery, of music, information technology and creativity in general.
