Artist Statement:
I Working with clay has given me an immense amount of pleasure, excitement and creative fulfillment. My introduction to clay over 25 years ago was a memorable event and has developed into an obsession for ceramics of every kind.
There is something very satisfying about working with clay. As you shape it, you “touch the earth” and through the miracle of your hands, heart and mind you can literally make something special from a lump of clay.
I am mainly interested in form, and I produce individual pieces, some thrown, but mostly Handbuilt using various techniques. Over the past eight years I have been working on Public Art Commissions and focusing mainly on developing handmade tile and mosaics.
As a founding member of The ClayHouse Studio at Casula Powerhouse, I conduct workshops, group and individual classes at the studio. Participate in group exhibitions and festivals.
The Magic of Clay has me Captivated.
